Firstly, to the forum, I'm sure you will enjoy it here as we have some very smart, cluey, experienced hunters/shooters from all walks of life, We also have quite a few quick witted fellas with a funny quip to go with just about every post.

It is a registration requirement to tell us your location in your profile (doesn't need to be your home address, Sydney, NSW will do for example) so we can get an idea of where and what you hunt, and more importantly when you post in the forsale/wanted section, everyone knows where you are..

You can introduce yourself and also tell us a bit about yourself if you choose to here.

Don't feel silly in asking questions, the only silly question is one you don't ask, I do however suggest you use the search function as many questions have already been asked and answered. This forum software uses "cookies" to remember who you are and also your personal settings, please make sure you have your browser set to allow cookies or you will not be able to login. If you experience problems logging in, then please delete any cookies with australianhunting.net in them, close and re-open your browser and try again.

There are several "help/how to posts" throughout the forum, e.g.

Finally, if you have any questions regarding *anything* to do with the forum, please don't hesitate to contact any of the moderators on the board.

Please remember to refer to our forum rules if you are unsure of whether you should post or not. Our Registration agreement contains a lot of what you can and can't do as well, they are listed below;

Registration Agreement

Welcome to Australian Hunting Net, please take the time to read the following Terms and Disclaimer before you register. If you need clarification or further information, please e-mail Admin

Note: we accept the use of the following free web based e-mail addresses only Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, MSN, y7mail, Live. All others please use your ISP (Internet Service Provider) address or your account will not be activated without prior reason/approval. Your email address must also be a valid, active account, if it isn't then you will not receive your activation email and your account will not be activated. Any account not activated after 30 (thirty) days will be deleted. Using a proxy server to try and hide your IP and or online ID (without express permission from the admin) will also result in your account not being activated.

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum. Further to this you agree to not to reproduce, use or publish any material or images posted on this forum anywhere else without the express permission of either the staff or the member who posted the material, doing so may also be a copyright infringement. You may also post your pictures and photos in the forums. These are your responsibility and you indemnify AHN against any liability because of their publication. You relinquish any copyright on the photos by uploading them to our servers.

Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum's owner. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this forum immediately. The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, please realise that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. Absolutely no business/company name is to be used, nor is it allowed in your signature lines or as your avatar unless you become a sponsor of the site.

With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another person except an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason.  We also HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft.

After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate or vulgar in nature will be removed, with or without prior notice. Appropriate sanctions may be applicable. A valid location (e.g, Sydney, NSW) is a registration requirement so that other members can accurately reply to your posts or questions. A valid, active e-mail account is also required at all times, a failure to comply with any of these requirements will result in your account being suspended.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

You indemnify the operators of AHN and its staff against any legal action because of anything you post or read in public forums or Private Message to other members.

Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.

As of the 1st October 2007, all members are now required to make 5 posts before they can access certain forums including the classifieds section. This has been done so that members have to at least participate in discussions before getting the benefit of free advertising. It will also give our members a little bit (albeit tiny) of an insight into who they are purchasing from or selling too.

For anyone that is about to join AHN, if you do not use a valid active email account, you will not receive the validation email and hence your account will not be activated. From the 1st Jan 2008, any accounts that are not activated 30 days after registration will be deleted. Please pay special attention to your spelling when registering an account, a simple spelling error in your email address will see your email bounce and your account will not be activated.

Also, from the 1st Jan 2008 any existing member that has a fake, inactive email account will also have their account deleted after 30 days. With the amount of members we now have, it is taking up way too much time to sort through all the fake addresses, if you have changed your email address, then update the account ASAP, there will be *no* exceptions to this ruling.

Further to this, anyone deliberately using a proxy server to hide their IP address will not be activated without express permission from the admin, much along the same lines as the free web based email accounts.

NOTE: Extra material

NOTE: From now on all new accounts will need to be activated by a moderator, please allow them time to do so before sending any e-mail asking why you cannot access the forums. Without a valid email address or location, your account will not be activated

Thank you

The AHN staff.

Hi Guys,

I can't stress enough the importance of having a valid working email address to join up with, and also a valid location. Some replies may not be strictly legal if we do not know what State/Territory you live in, please make the effort to make sure those two things are valid and working.

Also, with your email address, please check your deleted folder and your SPAM folder as often our mail ends up in one of those thuse never giving you your activation email, once reason for this is that we send out so much mail daily that some SPAM servers add us to their lists. Should you find our email in your SPAM list, please let them know that the emails are quite fine and not SPAM.

We are getting roughly 75% of our new members never following through with activation and registation, that must be because of the SPAM traps catching the emails.

Cheers.

Hi Guys,

Once again we find a lot of our members are using fake email accounts, or they can't spell their email address. If you don't receive a welcome email, activation email or a "lost password" email, please send an email to the admin@australianhunting.net.au with all your details so I can get it sorted for you.
