Housed in a humble little shed behind their home was the beginning of what is now the largest retail outlet of its kind in Australia.

Peter Abela arrived in Australia from Malta 40 years ago with not a penny to his name, everything he had was stolen from him on the ship. To start a new life in Australia, Peter worked 15 to 18 hours a day, 7 days per week as a market gardener.

The Victorian Deer Hunter Magazine is a quarterly based publication designed for deer hunters; the magazine enables hunters to contribute editorial stories and photos that relate to deer hunting.

The magazine features both hunter stories, technical articles and a Young Guns section for junior hunters in each Edition.

Our editorial and technical writers have been involved with deer hunting for many years and are well renowned in the deer hunting community.  This ensures that the content in the magazine is valuable to all readers. 

The magazine is also a strong supporter of clubs & organisations, these include stalkers, hound hunters and bow hunters. The Victorian Deer Hunter magazine provides product reviews and educational articles, which will help the experienced deer hunters as well as those just starting out.

Robert Beeman's interest in airguns began over a half century ago when he received a Daisy 25 BB gun as a birthday gift. In 1954 he designed what were perhaps the first paint marking airguns to mark migrating elk. Then, in 1971, while a professor at San Francisco State University, he obtained several European spring piston airguns. He became so interested in those fine guns that he founded Beeman Precision Airguns, as a part-time business, in San Anselmo, California, during April 1972.

There really wasn't a significant adult airgun market in the United States prior to 1975. The European makers simply could not understand why. Little did the Beemans realize when they mortgaged their home for their first inventory, that soon not only would they be increasing the importation of true adult airguns into the U.S. over one hundred fold, but changing the very nature of those guns!

All of the right ingredients came together for the development of the American adult airgun market about 1975. Products had reached a good level of development in Europe, the U.S. market evidently was ready, and Robert and Toshiko Beeman seemed to have had just the right approach, to finally make "adult airgunning" emerge in the United States as a significant, commercial success.

Hunt Australia are fishing and hunting safari outfitters owned and operated by Matt Graham, based in Armidale, NSW.

Their main tours are fishing and hunting adventures in the New England ranges, for rainbow trout, Murray cod, fallow deer and feral goats.

During the winter months Matt is based in the Northern Territory and has wilderness camps specialising in trophy buffalo, wild boar and barramundi fishing.

FEDERATION OF HUNTING CLUBS...

The Federation of Hunting Clubs came into being in November 1996, after the then Shooters Party MLC, John Tingle, pointed out to Premier Carr that some 90% of all firearms licenses were taken out for the purpose of hunting.      He was able to persuade the Premier that the incoming firearms laws would disadvantage these people – especially the large  number of ethnic groups, who were, basically the only firearms owners organised into hunting clubs, because hunting clubs would not be recognised.

The Legislation was amended in November 1996, even before it had been proclaimed, to recognise membership of a hunting club as a “genuine reason” for a firearm licence.

The Shooters Party encouraged and helped organise the formation of hunting clubs in many part of NSW, and formed them into the Federation of Hunting Clubs, which is a recognised umbrella group under the Firearms Regulations.    The Clubs are able to organise insurance, register members’ hunting activities for justification of the firearm licence, and most provide training meets, including sighting in facilities, trophy dressing and safe hunting.

The Federation is affiliated with and supported the Shooters Party, and is represented on the NSW Game Council

The Australian Shooters Party (ASP) hopes to repeat the success of its New South Wales counterpart, in the Federal election on November 24 2007.

The NSW Shooters Party doubled its representation in the Upper House of the State Parliament in the election in March this year.

The upcoming Federal election gives sporting shooters, anglers and 4WDers a new opportunity to strengthen their political voice and protect their sporting and recreational activities from the threat of the extreme Greens.

The ASP has teamed up with the Australian Fishing and Lifestyle Party (AFLP) because the two groups share many common objectives, including a strong opposition to the Greens’ idealistic, skewed and dangerous vision for the future.

In Queensland, ASP preferences will be directed towards the AFLP and other like-minded groups such as the Christian Democratic Party, which are opposed to the Greens’ irrational attitude towards the shooting sports and legal firearm ownership, as well as usage of state forests and marine parks.
